Currently BSBG has no less than ten projects under construction in Dubai, and while some of them must remain under wraps for now, there are those that we are keen to share a construction update on through the medium of photography, courtesy of our photographer extraordinaire, John Weston. And so here they are:
This is the first time we’ve publicly revealed our involvement in the Bluewaters Island project. BSBG is the lead design consultant of Bluewaters Residential, one of the largest projects we have taken involvement in. The development has rapidly progressed, and is now at an advanced stage. This prestigious project has seen BSBG take on the following roles: Lead Consultant, Executive Architect, Structural Engineering, Interior Design and Architect of Record.
In overseeing the entire residential project through concept to construction and onto completion, BSBG has reaffirmed its status as one of the region’s leading multi-disciplinary practices. We look forward to completion of this project.
BSBG designed BLVD Crescent for Emaar as a dual tower single podium development on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.
The project, for which BSBG is providing a full suite of services (Lead Consultant, Design Architect, Executive Architect, Structural Engineering, Contract Administration, Construction Supervision and Architect of Record), is progressing extremely well and the site is operating smoothly. BLVD Crescent, when complete, will become a standout example of modern residential architecture in Dubai.
The Dubai Mall is currently undergoing a couple of large scale renovations and additions, which BSBG is playing a significant role in. The Zabeel expansion project will extend the GFA extensively when complete. The project involves construction of a large new retail and car parking building, connected to the mall via a retail link bridge above one of the busiest roads in Downtown Dubai.
The new Zabeel expansion will house multiple commercial units throughout its G+9 development, including a dedicated entertainment anchor and a flagship retail store.
This project has to be one of the most keenly anticipated in Dubai, and the handover we expect to completed very soon, when the interior fitout will begin. The core and shell has presented to us challenges and feats of architecture that some might not have believed possible, however when you take on a Zaha Hadid project, this is what is demanded of you.
Described as “the building that never sleeps”, The Opus is an architectural wonder, and once the final stage (construction of the underside of the bridge) is complete, this becomes a building that may never be matched for innovative architecture and creative design anywhere in Dubai – or indeed the world.
