Dubai-headquartered architectural practice BSBG has announced the opening of its first international office, and its expansion into the Asian market, with the launch of a new operation in Ho Chi Minh City, as a Vietnam architect. The opening of the new office marks the beginning of an expansion programme that will see the unique BSBG proposition taken into new territories across the globe.
For more than 40 years, BSBG has cultivated a reputation for delivering superior standard solutions across architecture, interior design and engineering projects, with a noticeable lift in the scale of Dubai architecture projects in the last decade. Now, Alistair McMillan, BSBG Managing Partner and Owner, has decided the time is right to open a third office in a new territory, complementary to the existing large scale operation in Dubai, UAE and representative office in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
But far from being a satellite support office for the Dubai headquarters, the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam venture will target new projects of its own across Asia, and is currently in early stage dialogue with some key developers in the region as the property and development market in Asia continues to flourish.

Commenting on the new Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam architecture office, McMillan said: “Having reached our 40th year of operations in Dubai, UAE last year, we felt the time was right to build on that foundation with an expansion strategy. This was not a decision taken overnight; it has been in the works for quite some time with a good deal of in-depth research conducted before a decision was made as to the location of our first international venture.”Vietnam has seen a shift in the quality of architecture and design in the last decade, with a new level of sophistication and technological advancement – the construction sector in the country becoming increasingly attractive to investors, developers and designers alike.
The number of staff at the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam architect office is already at 20, and there is the capacity to double this figure within the next 12 months. BSBG Partner Andrew Bereza, Chris Brown (Technical Manager) and Mark Vaughan (Office Manager and Senior Architectural Technologist) have each been heavily involved in the setup of the new office, with Mark currently based in Ho Chi Minh City and leading the operation.Following Mark’s return to Dubai, the office will soon be headed up by Andrew Meehan; Meehan is a key member of the management structure within BSBG, and calls upon vast experience as a project manager from his time in Sydney, Australia. There, he has worked on and delivered numerous exclusive projects, each with an individual worth in excess of AED 1 billion; these include Esprit Apartments, Rhodes Apartments and Site 15 Green Square. Under his stewardship the project teams in Vietnam will work collaboratively to continue delivering projects at the standards with which the BSBG name is associated.
