Wednesday 7th June was the date for the official opening of the BSBG office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The new office, which represents the architectural firm’s first international venture, was founded in response to an increase in demand for BSBG’s participation in architectural projects throughout Asia.
The opening party, in celebration of the new office, was attended by significant figures from within BSBG and across Vietnam. From BSBG, Managing Partner and Owner, Alistair McMillan was accompanied by Andrew Bereza (Partner), Kevin Harper (Partner), Scott Orwin (Director), Nick Turbott (Director), Chris Brown (Associate and Technical Manager), Mark Vaughan (Vietnam Office Manager and Senior Architectural Technologist), Charlotte Wareing (Brand Manager) and John Weston (IT Manager), along with the 19 strong Vietnam team.The event was by invitation only, and was attended by many established and respected figures and organisations based in Vietnam, with the guest list including developers such as TBS Group, Novaland, Mapletree Investments and Jen Development, contractors Hoa Binh Corp and DB Plus, and project managers WT Partnership and PTW Architects.
Other guests included institutions such as the British Business Group Vietnam, the Australian Chamber of Commerce, VAA (Vietnam Association of Architects), UCN (University College of Northern Denmark), UAH (University of Architecture, HCMC) and RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), as well as a number of media outlets.The first two hours were held in the new office itself, allowing the BSBG team to showcase their latest projects and technology, along with the office interior which was designed and managed by Brewer Smith Brewer Group. After the opening drinks, the party moved on to the Rooftop Social in the high class Hotel Des Arts, Ho Chi Minh City. Guests enjoyed a lavish reception, during which complimentary wine and canapes were served.
The evening was enjoyed by all those in attendance, and was a fitting overture heralding the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the BSBG story, as an international expansion programme now commences.Alistair McMillan reserved special thanks and praise for those that travelled and worked between Dubai and Ho Chi Minh City to establish and set up the office, including Andrew Bereza, Chris Brown, John Weston, and Mark Vaughan (who has been based in HCMC since the beginning). Mark looks forward to welcoming his successor Andrew Meehan to the company next month.
The office opening was also an opportunity for Senior Management to recognise the success and hard work put in by the new Vietnam team over the past 10 months.
BSBG was established as an architectural firm in Dubai in 1976 and expanded overseas to Ho Chi Minh City in 2017, providing a multi-disciplinary proposition founded upon three pillars; architecture, engineering and interior design.
