BSBG has attended The Bartlett Annual Summer Show 2017 as main sponsors of the show alongside Foster + Partners. More than 650 students from The Bartlett School of Architecture exhibited an inspirational collection of inventive visual work, which included models, drawings, films, multimedia installations and digital fabrications.
The show was attended by BSBG’s Head of Design, Armin Buchbinder, along with Lead Architect Iain Strudley, who awarded the BSBG Adaptive Technology Prize to MArch Architecture Year 5 student, Thomas Bush, Unit 20.
Armin and Iain reported back that they were hugely impressed by the quality of the work on display at the show, with Armin saying: “The work Iain and I saw at The Bartlett was outstanding, with a real focus on exploration of the key aspects of various urban and architectural challenges.”The output of students from across each of the five year groups was presented using a full range of media, including 3D printed models, animation, drawings, physical models and prototypes. “The Bartlett is at the forefront of architectural design education, and when we see the standard of forward thinking output from the students, which tackled head on the challenges for the future of the profession, I think the show encompassed all that Bartlett stands for: innovation, creativity and sustainability in architecture,” Armin finished by saying.
Many of the most promising students approached BSBG during the show, and some were interviewed by Armin and Iain with a view to potentially offering a work placement at one of the firm’s international offices to work through their RIBA part 2 alongside BSBG’s dynamic team of designers.
The Bartlett is one of the world’s oldest and most reputable architectural institutions, attracting academics and students from across the globe. BSBG is proud to sponsor such a prestigious institution as The Bartlett.
