A team of BSBG running enthusiasts took part in a special Ramadan night edition of Run The Track, a series of social runs comprising a 3 km, 5 km and 10 km race, held during the course of the year at Dubai Autodrome.
Despite usually being reserved for high performance cars, the Autodrome track hosted some of BSBG’s own high performance athletes, as they each competed in the ‘friendly’ race, which is generally seen as more of a social run than a competitive event. The Ramadan Night run was held on Friday 18th May 2018, and despite the start time of 7:45pm – temperatures at the Autodrome still reached 31° C – challenging conditions for any runner, regardless of experience.
Taking part from BSBG were Alistair Bradley, Associate and expert sprint finisher; Armin Buchbinder, Head of Design and keen mid-distance runner; Colin Tierney, Lead Architect and Triathlon specialist; Nazer Tahir, Senior Architect and member of Dubai running club, Dubai Creek Striders; Alia Soufan, Senior Interior Designer and top jogger, and Marathon Des Sables warrior – Stewart Bell, Lead Architect. While no competitive element is implied with regards to the run, each of the BSBG competitors managed to finish the race, receiving a medal for their efforts, and we’ve compiled their finish times here:
Alia Soufan – 19 mins 16 secs
Alistair Bradley – 51 mins 28 secs
Armin Buchbinder – 51 mins 43 secs
Colin Tierney – 53 mins 29 secs
Stewart Bell – 55 mins 19 secs
Nazer Tahir – 58 mins 59 secs
Armin told us that: “it was a great event and certainly fun to run as a team, especially as we all got to the finishing line!”
The event is hosted by Premier Online, an organisation which hosts numerous race events, including triathlons, foot races and cycling events throughout the year. You can check out their forthcoming calendar of events here: www.premieronline.com.
A big well done to all those who took part in Run the Track!
