Developer Sweid & Sweid has now publicly unveiled plans for its 32-storey tower formerly known as Luxury Residences, currently under construction in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. The $163 million tower is to become the first Banyan Tree residential project in the Middle East, comprising 244 residences, a number of duplex apartments and three full-floor penthouses. The name of the complex has now been confirmed as Banyan Tree Residences, Hillside Dubai.
BSBG became involved in the project from the early design stages – and will take it to completion. This is an architecture, interior design and engineering project for BSBG, which presented another opportunity to work alongside a top developer and produce the same level of quality as seen on The Edge – the award-winning office development on which the developer and architect previously collaborated.
Within the new development will be a variety of amenities and features with which the international Banyan Tree brand has become associated. These include a clubhouse and spa, a luxury swimming pool and beautifully landscaped gardens across the complex; features that BSBG implemented to give the development a distinctive offering among the repetitive format of the surrounding clusters in the JLT district.

This approach proved to be a success, and has contributed to one of the world’s top hotel brands selecting the development to become their first hotel residences in Dubai. Working alongside Sweid & Sweid on projects is for us always a great experience and we hope Banyan Tree Residences, Hillside Dubai will reach the same level of success as (BSBG’s first Swede & Sweid project) The Edge.”
Commenting on the announcement of the deal with the international hotelier, Sweid & Sweid Managing Partner, Maher Sweid, added: “With over two years in design and development, we are excited to finally announce this landmark project and our partnership with Banyan Tree.
“In line with our corporate philosophy, underpinned by the commitment to delivery, construction commenced far ahead of the public sales launch, which will give assurance to buyers about the timely delivery of the project. The residences are scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of 2018, while BSBG is working towards delivery during the second half of 2019.
